Kitty Katastrophe

This past weekend we had a tragedy...we lost Sophie's trusted Kitty! We looked everywhere, even the pet store where we thought we last had her, but no sign of Sophie's friend. Perhaps she was turned into a dog toy or trash! :( We were all distraught. So, Justin immediately started searching for Kitty (at the store he got her, online, etc.), & we found her online! We decided that Kitty had gone on a trip & got all fixed up. Sophie was quite excited, having seen the email! Well, the very next morning, I saw the tip of a yellow shaggy tail peeking out from under our shoe rack...yes, indeed, she had ended up stuffed there & was never gone. Sophie was elated but still wanted Kitty to be fixed. After all, the poor thing only has half a nose, scratched up eyes, half its stuffing, & quite the faded fur coat. Well, since *you know what* (wink wink) :) was already ordered, Kitty will be "sent to be fixed" quite soon, and then maybe our old, trusted, raggedy friend won't be so raggedy anymore. What a scare!

Our Dancing Princess

We had no idea just how much our rough & tumble, goofy girl had turned into a little Princess, until recently. The other ngiht, I let her try on her Easter dress, & she immediately called it her "Cinderella dress" (that being her favorite movie), and began twirling & dancing around singing "So This is Love" from...yep, you guessed it...Cinderella! She did this for a good 1/2 hour, & I just thought it was hilarious & adorable! What a fun little girl!

Here comes Smith baby #2!

We're very excited to have another little one joining the family, due to arrive around Oct. 21. I (Lauren) have been feeling fine in the mornings, but getting definite "evening sickness," if you will, as well as the usual fatigue. That's just how it goes! The whole process really is amazing. We're not nearly as nervous & anxious with this second one, but just calmly happy. Sophie is slowly catching onto the idea that there's a baby growing in "Mama's tummy," & that a baby will be joining us later. We may be in for a little jealousy at first :), but I'm sure she will be a great big sister. I'm just hoping for her to be potty trained by summer (its coming along)! So, here's our little kidney bean for you all to see!

Firehouse visit with Preschool group

Sophie has recently joined a preschool group (put together by moms in our ward at church). They went on a field trip to the firehouse this week, & Sophie had a blast! She came home with her own fireman's hat, got to see one of the moms try on a fireman suit, & she got to sit in the big firetruck (with Kitty of course)! What fun!

Museum Fun

A couple weeks ago, after hearing about our favorite museum being re-opened (The American History museum), we decided to take a trip dowtown. We stopped at Sophie's favorite, The Natural History Museum, first. She loved running around, seeing the big animals and dinosaur bones. She understands soo much more now! By the time we got over to the American History Museum to see Old Glory & re-visit the Americans at war section (so good!), the munchkin conked out in her stroller! We'll ahve to go back, but all-in-all, just a fun time toegther!

Even more...I'm still learning this blog photo thing!

More Snow Day Pictures

Today was spent mostly inside, watching Cinderella, Sophie new favorite movie ("They get married!" being one of her new favorite lines to say). However, I thought I'd share the fun of our snow adventures from yesturday. We found a boogie board lying around & decided to go sledding with it. It was loads of fun! We attempted a snow man (not as good as the last one, but at least he ahs stick arms!), had fun with snow angels, & then came in for some Hot cocoa & Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with the whole gang. It couldn't get any better!

After our fun int he snow, sledding, making a snowman (more pictures to come), Sophie decided she'd make a snow angel like Mama, & we couldn't resist videoing the cuteness. :)
